Birthday Party

Some of her first birthday portraits

In her traditional Ethiopian outfit

Delylah is loving her birthday gift "Thanks Mommy and Daddy"

Yep all my balloons

The second cake. Looks much more appetizing than the first

All is well that ends well. I guess I must explain that statement. Delylah's party started off with many hitches. To begin we purposely planned her party after MLK weekend thinking many people would be out of town because of the holiday weekend and unfortunately many of our friends could not join us in her celebration but the party must go on. Keith went to go pick up the cake and I guess did not inspect the cake because it was completely melted (the whipped topping) when he arrived home. Of course, this is not something that should happen in 15 minutes. We had to call publix and see how they were going to remedy the situation. They said they would remake the cake. We worried that this would not happen in time because the party was 30 minutes away. At the same time of the cake commotion the dog stole a cookie from Lennah and that turned into chaos because Lennah got upset. Well all turned out AOK. Publix remade the cake which luckily my friend Chasity lives right near them and offered to pick it up on her way here since she was running behind. They also gave us all our money back a nice perk to going through worry that my baby's first birthday cake was going to be ruined. The party was a hit especially the food. Delylah had a great time playing with some friends and has loved her gifts. Mommy and Daddy bought Delylah a Little Tikes Princess Coupe and that toy has become a hot commodity in our house between her and Lennah.

Enjoy all the photos and thanks to all who made her birthday a success.

Happy First Birthday Baby Girl

A sad and a happy day has come; Delylah turned one today. I am sad because time has gone so fast. I am happy to see how fast she is progressing and learning and happy that I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. Little did I know that a year ago today our daughter was born thousands of miles away. Delylah is an awesome baby. She is so smart she is already saying quite a few words like nice, star, baby, mommy, daddy, and her latest which she picked up from Lennah which is Dora. We are just so amazed that we have two beautiful smart little girls.

Even though Delylah's birthday is today, Saturday will be her officially celebration. Of course, I am cooking like usual and am hoping that her birthday turns out as great as Lennah's first birthday did. I guess I will catch everyone up then until then enjoy the girls latest pics.

New Year Updates

I haven't had a chance to post since Christmas. To update everyone on our girls. Delylah is growing like crazy and walking all over the place. It is amazing to see how much she is developing. She is starting to talk; so far she can say momma, star, dada, and cat. Cat is her latest and I was so proud tonight when we were going through our animal book and she pointed out the cat when I asked. She is also starting to get into imitating animals. This is something Lennah has always been into that we do together and it seems like Delylah picks up so much from her; bad habits and all.
Lennah is fully potty trained which is great; one less huge expense. It is amazing to see how much she is learning and growing. It's nice to be able to ask her a question about something she wants and she can actually tell us. In some ways her age is so much easier.
With all the great comes the fighting over toys. We are often breaking up pushing and taking toys from each other. Lennah will sometimes share and sometimes be a bully and take toys from Lennah and vice versa.
As for everything else. The new year is hopefuly going to bring our family great things. WE have already planned a trip to Disney and June and also going to spend a few days at Ketih's grandmother's house during that trip. I am looking forward to having Delylah experience her first trip to Disney. Lennah enoyed it so much last year that we are hoping Delylah likes it just as much. Plus Disney is offering 3 nights free right now when you book 4 so it is definitely more affordable than it normally would be. We also have small family trip planned to South Carolina next month while I am on break from school.
We hope everyone has a great year.
