Delylah-Yes! It's mine now

Delylah- Let me play too!!!

This weekend was busy again. Saturday we took the kids to the local trick or treat village which was enjoyable. Lennah was in a good mood and well rested and Delylah of course just goes with the flow. Saturday night we took the kids and watched my friends four kids since she has been watching Lennah and Delylah for me on Monday afternoons. Needless to say that the kids were wore out after such a long day, playing and staying up late. Lennah ran around having a grand ole time with my friends boys. They hit the car and within a minute each of them were out cold. Sunday we also had an enjoyable day because we went to Meron's first birthday party. Meron is Delylah's old crib mate. It is great to see our kids hanging out with their buddies from their native countries. I think it is so wonderful to be able to have that connection with someone. It was a great party. I wish I would have brought my camera to take pics of the girls together. They were especially happy since Meron and Delylah apparently had the same little boyfriend (Charlie) back in Ethiopia. Well, here is the week in photos.

Boo at the Zoo

What a serious face

Since Keith unfortunately missed our outting to the pumpkin patch last weekend we decided to have a family outing this weekend. Saturday night we took the girls to Boo at the Zoo. I was inspired by my friend Jamie who visited this activity at the zoo near her. Anyway, the girls were absolutely adorable in their costumes. THey got dressed up and Lennah got a little practice at trick or treating. Since last year she was really too little to get it. However, the night did not go as well as planned. Lennah eventually got tired and cranky and never let me put her down. This could also be attributed to the fact that she is cutting her rear molars. Definitely not something enjoyable. However it will still a fun evening and something that was worth checking out.
Delylah is also really standing well while holding on now. We are thinking that she will walk around a year old for sure.

2 Months Together

A beautiful smile

Today marks two months since Gothca day in Ethiopia and it is amazing to see how much Delylah is changing every day. She is just catching up so quick and it is hard to believe that she has only been with us two months. Today she pulled up on and stood up by holding onto the coffee table. Two months ago she couldn't sit up without me propping her up. She is babbling all the time but she barely let out a peer two months ago. Delylah loves clapping and waving and we are still working on trying to get her doing other things like pointing out body parts. I think in some ways she has an advantage when it comes to learning because when Keith or I are trying to teach her Lennah is also following along pointing out things and such. So she basically has two of us teaching her at all times. Overall the past two months have been great and we love having our two girls.

A Fun Day

If you are happy and you know it clap your hands

Sisters reading together

Today was one of those crazy fun days. To begin Lennah had her first performance at the Paulding County Fall Festival today. As excited I was I did not expect very much especially since it takes her about ten minutes to get warmed up in dance class and want to let me go, plus not to mention her age group was only doing one 2 minute dance. Anyway, she actually went up and let go right away but she just stood up there watching the crowd. There were four girls up there in her age group and another stood up there and just watched the crowd as well. Hopefully her next show she will be willing to perform but we are headed in the right direction if she is willing to get up there. I do not want anyone to think we are pushing her towards dance we are just trying to get her interacting with other kids her age since she is not in day care and she loves dancing around the house. If it gets to where she doesn't want to go to dance we are more than willing to pull her out of class. We are firm believers in not forcing sports or anything on our kids.
From Lennah's show we headed up to north Georgia to visit a pumpkin farm with several other families who adopted children from Ethiopia through Illien. It was a great time with other families and most had not had the opportunity to meet Delylah. I think it is great to keep kids around other adopted children so they know they are not different or the only kid in the world that is adopted. Delylah was also thrilled to see her little boyfriend Charlie (her old cribmate). They are just so cute together trying to hold hands. Obviously, they are little and have no idea what they are doing it is just cute to watch two babies trying to hold each other. I think it is more curiousity. Overall, the day was great and it would have been better if Keith would have been able to join us but unfortunately busy season is approaching at work and he got stuck having to work at the last minute.

Here are some great pics of today and from the past week
